Synopsis

Norbu was a shrewd and strong shepherd who was forced into a life of thievery by poverty. The tribe discriminated against him and expelled him. Norbu prayed devoutly in the temple, determined to reform from stealing, but his son still died of illness. In order to feed his newborn baby, he sold his beloved horse. One winter night, Norbu sneaked to the horse pen out of his longing for his beloved horse and was beaten up as a horse thief. He returned limping, only to find the old aunt, who had raised him since childhood, dead under the claws of a wolf. He was desperate, and took the risk of stealing horses again, ending his miserable life while being chased.
