Synopsis

Deeply in love, Sufen and Zhang Zhongliang got married and had a son. When the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression began, Zhongliang joined the rescue team and left Shanghai, while Sufen, out of poverty, took her son and mother-in-law back to the countryside. Zhongliang fled to Chongqing and married Wang Lizhen, a socialite he had encountered before, and lived a life of luxury and pleasure. Sufen, who had a hard life, became a maid and recognized her husband at a dinner party. However, Zhongliang still did not regret his actions, so Sufen had no choice but to take her own life by jumping into the river.
