On November 4 , the 7th Chinese Film Week kicked off with a premiere ceremony at the Jinfei Cinema in Mauritius to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the country and China. The event was organised by the Chinese Embassy in Mauritius, supported by the China Film Archive and the Mauritius Film Development Corporation, and co-hosted by the Mauritius Chinese Cultural Centre, the Jinfei Cinema and the Mcine Trionan Cinema.
Among those who attended the ceremony were Mr. Zhu Liying, Chinese ambassador to Mauritius and spouse, Mr. Avinash Teeluck, Minister of Arts and Cultural Heritage of Mauritius, Mauritian MPs Joanne Tour and Sandra Mayotte, Arnaud Martin, Chairman of the Board of the Mauritius Film Development Corporation, Zhang Xinhong, Cultural Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy, Qu Ying, Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy as well as members of the audience from all walks of life in Mauritius.
The week-long event will feature five outstanding Chinese films for the Mauritian audience. They are the Wandering Earth, White Snake, Wolf Totem, B for Busy, and Sister.
